This Day in Beer History

21st Amendment Ratified
On this day 79 years ago, the 21st Amendment to the United States Constitution was ratified, repealing the 18th Amendment
, which made the manufacture, distribution, and sale of alcoholic beverages illegal.

Before signing the legislation to finally end the "Noble Experiment," President Franklin D. Roosevelt cracked wise, "I think this would be a good time for a beer." Hey, who are we the people to disagree when the President declares that it's beer o'clock?

So cheers to 21st Amendment Brewing and all the craft breweries that have flourished since the 14 year drought of Prohibition!
